📺 SummerSlam 2025: Two Nights, All the Chaos – Match-By-Match Breakdown

📺 SummerSlam 2025: Two Nights, All the Chaos – Match-By-Match Breakdown

Night One

🥊 Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed
Result: Reigns and Jey Uso win.
Verdict: Brutal spots, solid match — but Jey Uso came under fire.
Hot take: Shieldz isn’t sold on Jey. Despite his popularity, he feels out of his depth alongside Reigns and Breakker.

👑 Women’s Tag Titles: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs Raquel & Roxanne
Result: Flair and Bliss take the win.
Verdict: A solid match with some interesting storytelling. Raquel continues to impress and evolve, while Roxanne’s size plays into her style.
Highlight: Flair and Bliss's “queen and goddess” pairing just clicks.

⚔️ Sami Zayn vs Karrion Kross
Result: Sami wins.
Verdict: The guys are over it. Kross has the tools but no traction, and Sami’s act has gone stale.

🤷 Jade Cargill vs Tiffany Stratton
Result: Stratton wins.
Verdict: Divisive. Shieldz calls Jade awkward and clunky; Hawxy defends her superstar aura and physical presence. Neither believes Stratton is ready for top-tier solo matches.
Quote of the night: “You can put glitter on a turd… it’s still a turd.” – Shieldz

💥 Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton & Jelly Roll
Result: Paul & Drew win.
Verdict: Crowd-pleaser! Jelly Roll impressed, Logan Paul continues to earn respect, and the splash through the table was insane.
Big takeaway: Logan Paul isn’t just a celebrity anymore — he’s a legit pro wrestler.

🏆 Main Event: CM Punk vs Gunther
Result: Punk wins the World Heavyweight Title — until Seth Rollins cashes in his MITB contract and steals it.
Verdict: A masterpiece. Slower-paced, story-driven, hard-hitting — everything a main event should be.
Aftermath: Seth’s cash-in got the pop, but the guys want to see him bring the realism if this feud’s going to work.

Night Two

🟣 Overall
Verdict: “It pissed all over Night One.” Pacing, crowd, match quality — everything felt sharper. There was one dud, but the rest hit big.

👑 Women’s Triple Threat: Naomi (c) vs Rhea Ripley vs IYO SKY
Result: Naomi retains.
Verdict: Excellent opener. Rhea/IYO chemistry was money, and Naomi had her best outing since returning — hot entrance with her dad on guitar didn’t hurt either.
Hot take: “As a wider story, I’m not upset Naomi won — it opens interesting roads.”

🪜 Six-Pack TLC: Lumis & Gacy (Wyatt Sicks) vs Andrade & Fénix vs DIY (Gargano/Ciampa) vs Axiom & Nathan Frazer vs Motor City Machine Guns vs Street Profits
Result: Wyatt Sicks stand tall after the numbers game kicks in.
Verdict: Utter chaos (in a good way). “Approaching O.G. TLC” territory for creativity and violence.
Highlights:

  • Candice LeRae took a sick bump (the stream’s “death counter” lit up).

  • Ciampa basically did an upside-down pull-up while hanging from the belts. Unreal core strength.

  • Four-corner sequence (frog splash / Spanish fly / leg drop / etc.) and DIY obliterated through four tables.

  • Joe Gacy massively impressed. “Loved this match.”

🏅 Women’s Intercontinental Title — No DQ, No Count-Out, “Last Chance”: Becky Lynch (c) vs Lyra
Result: Becky retains.
Verdict: Gritty, inventive brawl with a few rough edges (a cable-tie slip), but they worked their backsides off for ~25 minutes.
Moment: Bayley interferes… Becky launches her into the barricade, she stumbles onto the table, and a leg drop puts her through it. Crowd woke up hard.

🪙 Steel Cage: Solo Sikoa vs Jacob Fatu
Result: Solo wins.
Verdict: The night’s miss. Too many run-ins for a cage match, sluggish pacing, chemistry never landed. Camera botch missed Fatu ripping free from handcuffs (the Goldberg homage).
Aftermath: Post-match moonsault from the top of the cage onto Jeff Cobb & Tanga Loa nearly folded Loa in half. Yikes.

🏆 Dirty Dom (c) vs AJ Styles
Result: Dominik retains.
Verdict: The Eddie Guerrero homage done right — fun, tight, and super over. Low rider entrance, shimmy, Three Amigos, and the classic “boot comes off in the Calf Crusher” payoff before Dom cracks AJ with it for the pin.
Take: “10 minutes of absolute perfection.”

🔴 Main Event — Street Fight for the Title: Cody Rhodes (c) vs John Cena
Result: Cody wins.
Verdict: Big-time pro wrestling. 37 minutes that flew by. Cena came out full babyface colors; crowd dynamic went Rock/Hogan with Cody working heel stretches.
Holy crap moment: They disappear under the stage… then rise up on Cody’s lift — cinematic as hell.
